Carnival 2026 Proclamation, with Susi Caramelo

On Friday, January 30th, at 9:00 PM, the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre will host the official start of Carnival 2026 with the opening address by Susi Caramelo, comedian, actress, and presenter, one of the most recognizable, transgressive, and distinctive voices in contemporary humor. Her career has been established both on television and on stage, participating in highly-rated programs and developing her own shows that combine irony, improvisation, and an uninhibited critical perspective.

With her direct, sharp, and deeply relatable style, Susi Caramelo has become a leading figure in contemporary humor, standing out for her ability to connect with diverse audiences and for breaking down barriers through comedy. Her selection as the Carnival's official herald reinforces the open, irreverent, and popular character of Torrevieja's Carnival.

Following the opening speech, the presentation of the 2026 Gold Shield will take place, one of the most emblematic institutional events of the festivities, and the day will conclude with the screening of the documentary "Carnival of Torrevieja 2026" , an audiovisual journey through the history, emotion and identity of this celebration so deeply rooted in the city.

Carnival Kings Coronation Gala 2026

On Saturday, January 31st, the Municipal Theatre will host the traditional Coronation Gala of the Carnival Kings and Queens, with two performances scheduled for 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. The show will serve as the official farewell to the 2025 Royal Court and will usher in the unveiling of the new costumes for Carnival 2026, in a spectacular production filled with music, light, and color.

In this edition, the titles go to Mía Sánchez as Children's Queen, Iván Quesada as King of Carnival, and Laura Alberca as Adult Queen. The gala is one of the central events of the carnival program and an essential meeting point for the public, the carnival groups, and the city's festive community.

Illustrious Ignorants

On Saturday, January 31st, at 9:00 PM, the Torrevieja International Auditorium will host Ilustres Ignorantes , one of the longest-running and most recognizable comedy shows in Spain. Starring Javier Coronas, Raúl Cimas, and Pepe Colubi, the show brings to the stage the spirit of the cult television program that has been a hit for years.

Hosted by Coronas with his unmistakable irony, and accompanied by the absurd yet brilliant responses of Cimas and Colubi, Ilustres Ignorantes (Illustrious Ignorants) presents a chaotic and hilarious debate on everyday, cultural, metaphysical, or downright absurd topics. Each performance is unique, unpredictable, and unrepeatable, as the show is built live from the improvisation, wit, and audacity of its protagonists.

A show of intelligent, provocative and unfiltered humor, which arrives in Torrevieja with tickets practically sold out, with only about ten remaining.

Joaquín Caserza – Conversations with my mind

On Sunday, February 1st, at 7:00 PM, the Municipal Theater will host "Conversations with My Mind, " Joaquín Caserza's show that has resonated with thousands of audience members thanks to its honest and courageous approach to mental health through humor. Caserza has established himself as one of the most unique emerging voices in contemporary comedy, combining stand-up, acting, and personal storytelling.

In this monologue, the comedian invites the audience to delve into his own mental universe, engaging in dialogue with his anxieties, fears, body, and thoughts, giving shape to characters that come to life on stage. The result is an intimate, empathetic, and profoundly human performance, where laughter coexists with reflection and personal identification.

“Conversations with my mind not only seeks to entertain, but also to accompany the viewer and open spaces for conversation about the relationship we maintain with our emotions, becoming a proposal that transcends conventional comedy.

Tickets for all shows are available at the Municipal Theatre box office and on the official website www.culturatorrevieja.com . The program is part of the cultural agenda promoted by Cultura Torrevieja, which continues its commitment to a diverse, current, and high-quality offering.
