This morning, Friday, January 30th, diplomas were awarded at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center to students who successfully completed the 40-hour Spanish Course for Applicants for Residency. This diploma allows them to apply for the social integration report, a prerequisite for applying for residency in Spain.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the Councillor for Social Welfare and Coexistence and Integration, Oscar Urtasun North, the Councillor for International Residents, Gitte Lund, the coordinator of the Pangea Office, Jean Paul Mulero, and the President of ATIS, Querubina Imbernón Valero.

The classes have been taught in the Miguel Hernández classroom of the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, and two cultural visits have also been made, one to the floating museums and another to the Casino Cultural Society of Torrevieja.

The students come from three continents: Europe, Africa and Asia, thus providing a sample of current Torrevieja society.

The course, which began in November 2025 and ended in January 2026, was taught by ATIS teachers Belén Argüelles, Carmen Cerezo and Querubina Imbernón, in collaboration with the PANGEA office of the Torrevieja City Council.
