The mayor of Torrevieja holds his first meeting with the residents' association of La Mata and Torrelamata

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the councilor for Citizen Participation, Trudy Páez, and the councilor for the Environment, Antonio Vidal, held a working meeting this morning with representatives of the newly formed Association of Residents of La Mata and Torrelamata, which is chaired by Cayetano Pérez.

During the meeting, the municipal representatives congratulated the association on its recent formation, highlighting the importance of neighborhood associations as a fundamental tool for channeling citizen participation, identifying needs, and conveying proposals for improvement to the neighborhood and its surroundings.

The La Mata and Torrelamata Residents' Association was created with the aim of improving the social, cultural and neighborhood life of the district, covering the territorial area between Cabo Cervera and Puerto Romano, and committed to institutional collaboration and the active involvement of the residents.

The meeting addressed various lines of work, including the organization of recreational, cultural and festive activities, the improvement of neighborhood coexistence, as well as issues related to the urban and environmental environment, showing from the City Council the total willingness to maintain a permanent and fluid channel of dialogue with the association.

Eduardo Dolón emphasized that the City Council “will continue to support all neighborhood initiatives that contribute to strengthening the social fabric, promoting participation and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods and districts.”

For its part, the Department of Citizen Participation has highlighted the role of this new entity as a valid interlocutor between residents and the local administration, emphasizing the importance of working in a coordinated manner to move towards a more cohesive, participatory and accessible city.
