Spectacular weekend in Torrevieja with "Tarzan" and the National Chirigota Competition

Tarzan: The Musical

On February 21 and 22, the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre will be transformed into a lush African jungle to host Tarzan: The Musical, a super production by Theatre Properties that combines music, theatre, dance and acrobatics in a family show full of magic, excitement and adventure; and which is already selling the last tickets for its three performances.

With performances on Saturday the 21st at 5:00 pm and 8:30 pm, and on Sunday the 22nd at 5:00 pm, the story transports us to Victorian London, where the Porter family hears the legend of Tarzan, the boy raised by gorillas in a mysterious jungle. Isabella, the wet nurse and shaman who has cared for Jane since childhood, narrates a tale of love, courage, and discovery. When William Clayton proposes a return to the island that shaped their destiny, Jane, Archie, and young Charlie embark on a journey that will change their lives forever.

“Tarzan: The Musical” dazzles with its magnificent set design—featuring moving modules and immersive visual effects—that meticulously recreates the African jungle, populated by vines, acrobats, dancers, and creatures that bring to life a wild and fascinating world. The cast, led by Giampaolo Picucci (Tarzan), Mireia Coma (Jane), Silvia Villaú / Lorena Fidalgo (Isabella), and Carlos Salgado (William Clayton), along with a distinguished artistic and technical team, guarantees a world-class show.

Backed by the experience of Theatre Properties, the most veteran Spanish producer in the field of large-format musicals, this production combines emotion, technique and stage sensitivity, inviting the whole family to live an unforgettable experience.

Live music, precise choreography, detailed costumes and the creative stamp of Silvia Villaú (direction, script and lyrics) and José Enrique de la Vega (musical direction) complete a 120-minute production plus intermission, which celebrates adventure, courage and the power of family.

National Chirigota Competition

Next Saturday, February 21, from 6:00 p.m., the Torrevieja International Auditorium will host the highly anticipated National Murgas and Chirigotas Competition “City of Torrevieja” 2026, a show that promises to fill the stage with humor, criticism and music with a practically guaranteed atmosphere: the event is already close to full capacity as of today.

The competition will bring together outstanding groups from the carnival scene, including: Pichuzos por Soleá (Albacete), La Chochonis (Cartagena), Los Funde Plomos (Murcia), the local comparsa Los Sangochaos (Torrevieja), Los Robinsones (Cartagena) and La Chirigota del Cabezo de Torres (Cabezo de Torres).

Fun, rhythm, satire, and plenty of joy will come together in what is shaping up to be one of the province's biggest carnival shows, cementing Torrevieja's status as a benchmark for carnival and festive music lovers. An unmissable night to laugh, sing, and enjoy the wit on stage.
