The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council has approved in the session held this morning, Friday, February 20, the tender for the works of renewal of the public lighting in the streets around the Avenida de Baleares, with the aim of improving the energy efficiency and the quality of light in this area of the municipality.

The base budget for the tender of the works amounts to 177,394 euros (VAT included), with the planned execution period being four months, starting from the signing of the site handover report, which will allow the improvements to be operational in a short period of time.

The Councillor for Public Lighting, Concha Sala, has indicated that the project includes the replacement of the existing lighting network with new, more efficient and modern installations on different roads, including Menorca, Mallorca, Formentera, Ibiza, Mercator, Isla Hormiga and Martín Pescador streets, as well as several crossings and adjacent areas.

In total, the renovation will include the installation of 63 new poles and 72 new light fixtures which, once operational, will significantly improve the lighting of this important area of Torrevieja.

The actions include civil works, electrical installations, waste management and health and safety measures, in order to fully renew the lighting system and adapt it to current energy efficiency and sustainability requirements.

With this intervention, the City Council continues to advance in the modernization of municipal public lighting, opting for more efficient, sustainable installations adapted to the current needs of the neighborhoods.
