Three new cultural offerings arrive in Torrevieja: the comedy "The Lovers", the satirical theater of "Half and Half" and the dance of "Spanish Fantasy"
“The Lovers,” starring Kiko Hernández, will arrive on June 13 with a comedy of errors full of humor and unexpected situations. “Half and Half,” with Carlos Chamarro and David Hernández, offers an irreverent dark comedy written by Jordi Sánchez and Pep Antón Gómez, premiering on May 23. “Spanish Fantasy,” by the Spanish Ballet of Murcia, will offer a dance show full of color and tradition on April 25.
THE LOVERS, A COMEDY OF ENTANGLEMENTS WITH KIKO HERNÁNDEZ
On Saturday, June 13th, at 8:00 PM, the Municipal Theater will host "The Lovers," a fresh and fast-paced comedy starring Sofía Rangone, Kiko Hernández, and Fran Antón, who also directs the show. The script is by Michi Vílchez.
The play begins with a situation as absurd as it is unexpected: two inseparable friends who go out partying every Friday wake up after a night of excess with no memory of anything… except that they slept with each other. A blackout, a spiked drink, and a secret difficult to explain unleash a chain of misunderstandings and deceptions that threatens to spiral out of control.
The situation becomes even more complicated when it's discovered that one of them is also having an affair with the other's girlfriend. Amidst half-truths, improvised lies, and countless awkward situations, the protagonists find themselves trapped in a spiral of secrecy where no one is entirely innocent and the truth is always on the verge of being revealed.
HALF AND HALF, BLACK COMEDY
On May 23, at 8:00 p.m., the play “Half and Half” will also arrive at the Municipal Theater, an acidic and politically incorrect comedy starring Carlos Chamarro and David Hernández, directed by Sara Pérez and written by Jordi Sánchez and Pep Antón Gómez.
The story revolves around two brothers facing a critical situation: their mother, after suffering a stroke, remains in a precarious state that completely disrupts their lives. One son is struggling with a failing business and a complicated relationship; the other has dedicated himself to caring for his mother to the point of losing his patience.
In the midst of a night filled with arguments, family secrets, and pent-up tension, they both begin to consider a solution as radical as it is absurd: helping their mother die to spare her suffering. What starts as a crazy idea gives way to a series of clumsy, comical, and desperate attempts that transform the situation into a delirious game of guilt, fear, and dark humor.
SPANISH FANTASY, A JOURNEY THROUGH THE DANCE AND MUSIC OF OUR COUNTRY
On April 25th, at 8:30 pm, the Municipal Theatre will host “Spanish Fantasy”, a dance performance by the Spanish Ballet of Murcia, a company with more than 40 years of experience dedicated to the promotion of Spanish dance.
With ten dancers on stage, the show offers a journey through the diverse expressions of Spanish musical culture, combining tradition, elegance, and energy. The choreography draws on compositions by great masters such as Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Rodrigo, and Isaac Albéniz, and also incorporates popular music that connects directly with the country's cultural roots.
Fantasía Española is conceived as an accessible proposal for all audiences, capable of bringing the richness of Spanish dance closer to spectators of any age, in a show full of rhythm, color and emotion.
