Torrevieja celebrates theatre month with the family show "A Christmas Carol" as part of the Theatre for All series

The Municipal Institute of Culture “Joaquín Chapaprieta” continues to promote activities aimed at the family public with a new installment of the Theatre for All cycle, which will take place this coming Sunday, March 15, at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center.

On this occasion, the public will be able to enjoy the show “A Christmas Carol”, a stage production based on the work of the British writer Charles Dickens, which will be performed in two sessions, at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and is recommended for children from 5 or 6 years old.

This activity is part of the celebration of March as Theatre Month, since during this period two dates that are especially significant for the performing arts are commemorated: World Theatre Day for Children and Young People, which is celebrated on March 20, and World Theatre Day, on March 27.

A PROPOSAL OF OBJECT THEATRE FOR FAMILY ENJOYMENT

The show presents a carefully crafted adaptation of the classic "A Christmas Carol", using object theatre as a stage language to construct a visual and poetic narrative aimed at family audiences.

The play presents a dramatic journey through the appearances of the three spirits who visit the protagonist, structuring the narrative in three time periods: past, present, and future. In this way, the piece is configured as a theatrical triptych that recaptures the essence of Dickens's story and reflects on the true meaning of Christmas, in contrast to the consumerism and social obligations that often accompany these celebrations.

CRAFTS WORKSHOP AFTER THE SHOW

Following the performance, the activity will be completed with a crafts workshop aimed at families, with the objective of extending the theatrical experience through a participatory and creative proposal.

The Theatre for All cycle thus offers the opportunity to enjoy family shows once a month that promote values such as environmentalism, friendship, respect, love for art and culture, while also fostering shared cultural leisure between children and adults.
