Each beneficiary of the aid will be able to receive a maximum of 400 euros, with the City Council having a budget allocation of 399,200 euros earmarked for this purpose.

The Councillor for Senior Citizens of Torrevieja City Council, Inmaculada Montesinos, announces that the application period for grants for senior citizens (one-time payments to vulnerable groups due to age and limited financial resources) will be open from Tuesday, March 24th, until Thursday, April 23rd. Each recipient will be able to receive a maximum of 400 euros, with a municipal budget allocation of 399,200 euros.

Grant applications can be submitted at the Torrevieja Town Hall's General Registry or electronically through the online portal. Inmaculada Montesinos announces that the Town Hall will be providing a special service during the application period for those wishing to apply and obtain all the necessary information and documentation at the Senior Citizens' Center, located at Pedro Lorca, 74, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., until the application deadline.

The councilor for Senior Citizens reminds everyone that this municipal program aims to provide assistance to senior citizens and pensioners with incomes no higher than 1.5 times the Public Indicator of Income for Multiple Effects (IPREM), in order to offset the loss of purchasing power, improve the quality of life for this group, and complement the municipal policy of supporting senior citizens. It is worth noting that this year a total of 848 people applied within the established deadline.

REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN THIS MUNICIPAL AID

  • To be a recipient of a Retirement, Widowhood or Orphanhood pension, and over 60 years of age at the time of application; or to be over 60 years of age, and legally separated or divorced receiving a compensatory pension, therefore lacking other income of one's own.
  • To be listed in the Municipal Register of Inhabitants and to have been registered therein for a minimum of 2 uninterrupted years immediately prior to the date of submission of the application.
  • The applicant must not receive economic income exceeding 1.5 times the Public Indicator of Income for Multiple Effects (IPREM) in force in the year 2024 (in 12 or 14 monthly payments).

In addition to pension income, other income from employment, interest on investments, or similar sources that are compatible with receiving a pension will be taken into account. However, if income does not exceed 1.5 times the IPREM (Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income) and the applicant lives with family members, the requirement will only be met if the sum of the annual income of all members of their household is less than that amount.

The economic unit of cohabitation is understood to be when the applicant lives with other people united by marriage or by ties of kinship of consanguinity or adoption up to the second degree, that is, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren and siblings of the applicant.

  • You may own a maximum of one main residence and one parking space or storage unit. This includes both urban and rural properties held in full ownership, as well as those held in usufruct or bare ownership.
  • Be up to date with your obligations to the AEAT, Social Security, as well as with the tax obligations of this City Council.
  • Not to be in debt due to a resolution ordering the repayment of subsidies. Only one applicant will be granted per single household income bracket.
