Farra and the OST's Carmina Burana show headline this cultural weekend in Torrevieja
“FARRA” A PARTY AT THE THEATER
This coming Friday, March 27, the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre will host the performance of Farra, a stage production that is part of the celebration of World Theatre Day and will also serve as the closing event of the VI Raúl Ferrández National Theatre Competition.
The evening will begin at 8:00 p.m., with the reading of the World Theatre Day manifesto and the awarding of the competition prizes, consolidating this event as one of the key moments of the local cultural calendar.
Then, at 8:30 p.m., “Farra” will premiere, a show that offers a theatrical journey connecting the Golden Age with the present day through a baroque cabaret aesthetic that blends verse, live music, circus, and humor. Set in a carnival time where anything is possible, the play constructs a collective celebration that mixes tradition and contemporary life.
The proposal champions the power of words and the performing arts as tools to evoke emotion, reflection, and connection, reclaiming culture as a space for community in the face of the dynamics of the modern world. It's a piece that blends celebration and critique to invite the viewer to see reality from a different perspective.
OST: CARMINA BURANA
On Saturday, March 28, at 7:00 p.m., the Torrevieja International Auditorium will host Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, a co-production of the Municipal Institute of Culture “Joaquín Chapaprieta”, together with the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra and the UTE Cultura Torrevieja, and which has already sold out all its tickets.
This iconic work of the symphonic repertoire is presented as a musical experience of great intensity, where rhythm, choral strength and dramatic weight build a show of great emotional impact.
The production will feature a wide range of artistic performances, including soloists such as Rocío Martínez (soprano), José Manuel Díaz (baritone) and José Manuel Delicado (tenor), as well as the participation of various choral groups such as the Torrevieja Municipal Choir School, the Alicante Port Choir, the Orff Choir, the Francisco Vallejos Choir and the Crevillent Choir.
Under the direction of Selena Cancino and with the participation of guest conductor Armando Bernabéu Andréu, the concert is configured as a large-format stage proposal that highlights the collective power of music.
