The City Council improves the Plaza María Asunción with new trees and street furniture
The Parks and Gardens Department of the Torrevieja City Council is carrying out a replacement, adaptation and improvement project in the Plaza María Asunción, within the Municipal Plan for Maintenance, Renewal and Enhancement of the public spaces of the municipality.
During the last few weeks, teams from this municipal department have worked on the square with the aim of improving its overall condition, reinforcing its functionality and promoting its use as an area for community gatherings and social interaction.
The project included the planting of five new trees, specifically three olive trees and two jacaranda trees, contributing to the generation of shade, the improvement of the urban landscape and the increase in the environmental quality of the surroundings.
In addition, new benches have been installed, renewing the street furniture to offer greater comfort to users, as well as replacing litter bins to improve the care of public space.
Among the work carried out, the pruning of a large ficus tree in the square has also been undertaken, as well as painting and general conditioning work, along with different maintenance tasks both in the square itself and in the adjacent park, ensuring its proper condition and conservation.
Finally, it's worth noting that the council has also carried out work in Plaza Marina Española, where a large ficus tree has been pruned. Work is expected to continue soon in this area as part of the ongoing efforts to improve and enhance the surrounding environment. In addition, teams are continuing work in the Levante Dock area, making progress on its preparation for its upcoming reopening, as part of this plan to improve and restore key spaces in the municipality.
