The Levante Dike will open tomorrow, Saturday, after the completion of comprehensive works along 1,247 linear meters.
Tomorrow, Saturday, March 28, the Levante Dike will be fully reopened following the completion of its modernization, which includes new continuous paving, improvements to the pedestrian walkway, and the replacement of safety and protection elements. A high-efficiency public lighting system has also been installed, which not only improves visibility and safety at night but also significantly enhances the aesthetic appeal of the promenade.
The repaving and repair works on this cantilevered walkway cover 1,247 linear meters and have an investment of 6,543,733 euros (VAT INCLUDED), with the works having been carried out by the company CHM OBRAS E INFRAESTRUCTURAS SA
UNIQUE ELEMENTS THAT DEFINE THE NEW DAM
Among the project's most notable features is the installation of a prefabricated concrete bench, specially designed for this promenade, which also serves as a breakwater, integrating urban design and protection from the sea. An innovative RGB lighting system gives the breakwater a unique, dynamic, and attractive nighttime appearance, making it a new visual landmark on the Torrevieja coastline. The access and transition areas have also been improved, now offering more spacious and open areas from which to enjoy privileged views of the sea and the coastal environment.
PHASED IMPLEMENTATION TO MINIMIZE IMPACT
During the development of the works, the City Council has opted for a system of partial openings, allowing the progressive use of the promenade by the citizens while the works progressed.
With the final handover, the Levante Dock is now completely finished and open to the public in its entirety, establishing itself as a key space for leisure, tourism and the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
NEXT GENERATION FUNDS
The Architectural Lighting project is financed with funds from the recovery, transformation and resilience plan, Next Generation funds and is part of the tourism sustainability plan in destination that is developed in conjunction with the Secretary of State for Tourism and the Ministry of Innovation, Industry and Commerce, through Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, for an amount of 895,073 euros.
