Contract awarded for the repair of three outdoor sports courts to improve safety, accessibility and energy efficiency
The Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council has awarded the contract for the repair and conditioning of various outdoor sports courts located in different parts of the city to the company Construcciones Hermanos Espín SL, for an amount of 640,211 euros, within the municipal commitment to improve local sports infrastructure and guarantee its use in optimal conditions of safety, accessibility and sustainability.
The planned actions will allow the comprehensive rehabilitation of four facilities, located in the La Mata multi-sports court (Perfecta Rodríguez Park), the Cabo Cervera sports court and the Los Balcones multi-sports courts (Plaza Reina de la Sal), facilities that present various structural and maintenance problems, such as deteriorated metal fences, obsolete lighting or construction elements in poor condition, which makes a comprehensive action necessary to guarantee the safety of the users and the correct provision of the sports service.
The project includes the restoration of the outdoor sports courts, including the renovation of playing surfaces, the improvement of accessibility and the modernization of the equipment and enclosures of the premises, with the aim of guaranteeing safer, more functional facilities adapted to the current needs of users.
The main planned actions include:
-Demolition of deteriorated elements, such as perimeter walls, pavements and existing bleachers
-Replacement of fences and enclosures in poor condition
-Complete renovation of the playing surfaces
-Installation of non-slip sports paint with regulatory markings
-Improved accessibility and suitability of access points
-Installation of efficient lighting using LED sports projectors
These improvements will allow for safer use of the facilities and will promote sports practice both during the day and at night, while also reducing energy consumption associated with lighting.
With this action, the Torrevieja City Council continues to develop its policy of improving municipal sports facilities, especially those located in the neighborhoods, which are fundamental spaces for sports practice and healthy leisure.
The renovation of these sports courts will provide modern and accessible facilities for residents, promote healthy lifestyle habits, and reinforce the use of public spaces as social and sporting meeting points.
