The municipal initiative seeks to strengthen coping capacity in the face of stress and anxiety in essential public services

The Torrevieja City Council, through its Public Health and Local Police departments, is launching the "Emotional Health on the Front Line" program, an initiative focused on the psychological care and emotional strengthening of professionals who perform essential functions for the public.

The Councillor for Public Health, Rosa Cañón, the Councillor responsible for the Local Police, Federico Alarcón, and the Head of the Psychiatry Service of the University Hospital of Torrevieja, Jesús Mesones, have presented this training program which is born with a clear priority: to guarantee the well-being of public professionals, providing them with practical tools that allow them to face the demands of their daily work more effectively, prevent psychological burnout and promote greater emotional balance in the performance of their duties.

The program is specifically aimed at groups that work in high-pressure situations and in direct contact with the public, including security forces, local police, Civil Guard, traffic officers, firefighters and Civil Protection personnel.

TRAINING FOCUSED ON PREVENTION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The main objective of this training action is to strengthen personal and professional skills in the management of anxiety and stress, promoting the early detection of possible alterations in mental health and fostering healthier and more resilient work environments.

Through dynamic and participatory sessions, attendees will acquire emotional regulation strategies, coping techniques, and practical resources applicable to their work reality, thus contributing to improving the quality of public service and the overall well-being of professionals.

SESSION SCHEDULE

The program will be developed in two phases:

-April 14th and 15th, from 10:00 to 13:00

-May 13th and 14th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM

With this new municipal initiative, the Torrevieja City Council reaffirms its commitment to the emotional health of those who work in service to the citizens, betting on continuous training and the care of people as fundamental pillars of a close and responsible administration.
