Torrevieja celebrates the "I Mosaico Fest" to promote intercultural coexistence

The Councillor for Social Welfare, Coexistence and Integration, Oscar Urtasun, the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Trudy Páez and the intercultural mediator of the Torrevieja City Council, Rocio Raffaeli, have today presented the 'I Mosaico Fest', a great intercultural meeting under the motto "Torrevieja we are one", with the aim of promoting community participation, equal treatment towards migrants and the prevention of racism and xenophobia.

In recent years, Torrevieja has experienced a remarkable increase in its cultural diversity, establishing itself as one of the most international cities in Spain. According to municipal data, by the beginning of 2026, people from 123 countries across five continents were living in the municipality. This reality makes it necessary to promote initiatives that foster mutual understanding, positive interaction among citizens, and intercultural coexistence.

The 'I Mosaico Fest' was created precisely with this purpose: to energize the community and strengthen social cohesion from an inclusive and plural perspective, where every resident feels like a fundamental part of the city.

PROGRAMMING

The festival will take place from Friday, April 17th to Sunday, April 19th with a varied program:

Friday 17 (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

• 6:00 p.m.: Talk “Living between cultures”
• 6:45 p.m.: Talk “Youth and roots”

Saturday 18 (11:00 – 22:00)
Nations Park

• 11:00 a.m.: Opening of association tents
• 11:30 a.m.: Mural painting and children's games
• 12:30 pm: Opening ceremony and flag parade
• 2:00 p.m.: International Cuisine Demonstration
• 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Dances and music
• 4:00 PM: Gymkhana and balloon twisting
• 7:00 p.m.: Belly dancing and Bollywood workshops
• 8:00 p.m.: Musical show and Latin dance “Rumbembé”

Sunday 19 (11:00 – 2:00 p.m.)

• Inflatables and traditional games
• 11:30 a.m.: Tahitian dance workshop
• 12:30 pm: Bolivian parade and dance “Salay Bolivia”
