The City Council is reinforcing security and healthcare services in response to the high influx of visitors.

The Councillor for Markets, Antonio Vidal, and the Councillor for Public Health, Rosa Cañón, have announced the launch, starting next Friday, April 24, of an ambulance service at the weekly market in Torrevieja.

This healthcare resource will allow for immediate attention in case of incidents, as well as transfers to healthcare centers when necessary.

The weekly market in Torrevieja attracts a large number of merchants, workers and citizens who come every Friday, especially during the summer months, when the influx increases significantly.

As outlined in the municipal planning, the concentration of people and the weather conditions may lead to health incidents, mostly minor, such as dizziness, hypotension, trauma or heat stroke.

For this reason, the City Council has deemed it necessary to incorporate a preventive health resource that allows for rapid intervention within the market premises, improving service to users and avoiding unnecessary trips to health centers.

The Type B (Basic Life Support) ambulance service will be operational every Friday, or on the day the market is held if it is modified due to weather conditions, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Antonio Soria Park area.

This initiative is being launched in collaboration with the departments of Public Health, Markets and Security and Emergencies, with the aim of providing a quick and effective response to any health incident that may occur.

With this action, the Torrevieja City Council reinforces security and improves the quality of services provided in one of the busiest areas of the city, guaranteeing greater peace of mind for both citizens and visitors.
