The Ministry of Social Services, Family and Childhood has awarded the contract for the improvement works of the Maestro Francisco Casanovas Tallardà public residence for the elderly in Torrevieja for an amount of 1,013,656.71 euros.
The regional minister, Elena Albalat, who visited the facilities, announced that "work will be carried out on the elevator service and two floors of the residence will be adapted in order to increase the number of places for dependent elderly people in Torrevieja."
The regional minister explained that the Valencian government is seeking to bring the center up to current standards and stressed that "the investment, more than one million euros, is a demonstration of the Valencian government's firm commitment to public residences and to a care model that puts people at the center."
This action adds to other improvements already undertaken, such as the provision of technological equipment and digital tools aimed at cognitive stimulation, social connectivity, and improved care management.
The residence also participates in the implementation of the Comprehensive and Person-Centered Care Model promoted by the Generalitat, a strategic line that reinforces the role of these structural investments as support for a deeper change in care.
In addition, a pilot project for the Amaia Cuida tool is planned, conceived as a digital solution to support professional work in residences, which includes the preparation of the life history, preparation of the Care and Life Plan, assessment and analysis of the information obtained, monitoring and updating of the plans.
It is worth noting that the Maestro Francisco Casanovas Tallardà residence is a publicly owned and directly managed center of the Generalitat, with 214 authorized residential places, intended for the comprehensive care of elderly people in a situation of dependency.
