The Youth Department organizes hiking routes for young people
The Youth Councillor of Torrevieja City Council, Domingo Paredes, has announced the launch of his new "Hiking for Young People" program, a firm commitment to transforming the free time of the population aged 14 to 30 into an experience with a positive impact.
Under the motto "Youth and Nature," this initiative was created to move away from conventional leisure activities and reconnect new generations with the natural environment of our region. Unlike traditional excursions, these outings offer a participatory and adventurous approach , where participants will not only explore areas of high ecological value, but will also discover that sustainability is synonymous with fun and community.
In a context of growing concern for the environment, the program offers a practical and healthy response: a space for coexistence to share concerns, learn from experts and empower young people as the main guardians of our natural heritage.
Calendar and routes:
The cycle consists of two days of exploration, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. , focused on the most emblematic ecosystems of Torrevieja:
April 26: Route through the La Mata Lagoon. A guided tour to get a close look at the biodiversity of this unique lagoon system.
May 24: Coastal Route and the Water Mill. A tour along the coast of La Mata Beach and the Municipal Natural Area, highlighting the importance of conserving our dune system.
Registration and participation:
The program is completely free , although due to the nature of the activity, places are limited . Interested young people should register through the Torrevieja City Council's online portal or directly at the CIAJ offices.
