Torrevieja puts out to tender for the first time a single contract for the organization of all neighborhood and district festivals

The new procedure will improve coordination, transparency, and the quality of services in eleven major festive celebrations in the municipality.

The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council has approved the tender for the contract for the organization, production and development of the Sectoral Festivals that are celebrated in the different neighborhoods and districts of the municipality during the current year 2026, with the possibility of extension for the year 2027. This contract has as its main objective to promote citizen participation, revitalize social and cultural life and contribute to the socio-economic development of the city.

This is a comprehensive contract that includes all the services necessary for the proper development of these celebrations, including the installation of temporary infrastructure, the programming of artistic and cultural performances, the drafting of technical and organizational projects, as well as the supply of food products linked to the different festive events.

A PIONEERING CONTRACT THAT UNIFIES SECTORAL FESTIVALS

The Councillor for Festivals of Torrevieja City Council, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, has stated that this tender represents a milestone in the municipal management of popular celebrations, as it is the first time that all neighborhood, district, and themed events in the city have been grouped into a single contract. “This is a very important step for the organization of our festivals. For the first time, we are unifying all sector-specific events into a single contract, which allows us to guarantee greater transparency, efficiency, and quality in the services provided to residents and visitors,” Martínez Chazarra affirmed. She also emphasized that this new model facilitates the participation of specialized companies and improves competitiveness in the contracting process, which directly translates into more effective management of public resources.

ELEVEN GREAT CELEBRATIONS INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT

The Sectoral Festivals included in this contract comprise, among others, the celebration of traditional and cultural events that are part of the municipality's festive calendar, such as:

-Motorcycle Rally

-LGBT Pride Celebration

-Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

-Bonfires of Molinos del Calvario

-Saint Emigdio Festival

-San Roque Festival

-Torrelamata Summer Festival

-Festivities of the Virgin of Carmen

-Festivities of the Virgin of the Rosary

-Festivities of the Virgin of El Rocío

-Torrelamata Iberian Product Festival

DURATION AND VALUE OF THE CONTRACT

The contract will have an initial duration of one year, beginning on April 25, 2026, coinciding with the proclamation of the representatives of the Molinos del Calvario bonfire committee, or on a later date if the administrative procedure is formalized subsequently. Furthermore, the possibility of an extension for an additional year, for the year 2027, is contemplated.

The total estimated value of the contract amounts to 682,869.54 euros, including the initial annual payment, the possible one-year extension and any modifications foreseen in the file.

Specifically:

-First annual payment (2026): 305,735 euros

-Maximum amount of modifications: 71,398 euros

-First extension (2027): 305,735 euros

COORDINATED WORK WITH FESTIVE ENTITIES

The Councillor for Festivals wanted to highlight the work done by the municipal staff and by the representatives of the various festival committees and associations, who participated in coordination meetings prior to the drafting of the file.

“This contract is the result of intensive collaborative work with representatives of the festivals and events included in the program. We listened to their needs and sought the best possible model for each celebration and for the city as a whole,” Rosario Martínez emphasized.
