The works for paving and improving pedestrian routes and accessibility have been awarded with an investment of 6,368,670 euros
The Local Governing Board (JGL) of the Torrevieja City Council has approved the awarding of the asphalt works and improvement of pedestrian routes and accessibility 2025, with a municipal investment of 6,368,670 euros for the two lots that are put out to tender.
-LOT 1: 3,259,150.47 euros
-LOT 2: 3,109,520.03 euros
The Councillor for Infrastructure, Public Works, Services and Accessibility, Sandra Sánchez, has announced that the purpose of these works is to replace the road surface on several streets within the municipality of Torrevieja, as well as improve accessibility in specific sections by widening sidewalks and lowering curbs at intersections. Furthermore, the project includes replacing vertical signage throughout the project, following the recommendations provided by the Local Police.
The works have been divided into 2 lots:
Lot 1 (South Zone of the Municipality), awarded to the company PAVASAL EMPRESA CONSTRUCTORA SAU, presenting in its offer improvements from M0 to M9 of the project annex, resulting in a total surface area of 171,273 m2 for the resurfacing of Lot 1, thus including up to 57 streets and avenues of the city.
It should be noted that the M1 improvement is the construction of a deceleration lane that will provide direct access from the CV-95 to the Torrevieja University Hospital, in order to decongest the current access via the roundabout.
The accessibility improvements and pedestrian routes within LOT 1 are divided into two subchapters:
-In the Mar Azul Urbanization, specific actions are planned at different intersections, in order to improve accessibility at them and improvements to certain pedestrian routes, as well as the replacement of all vertical traffic signage that affects the actions described above.
-In the Acequión neighborhood, from Pinoso Avenue to Portalicos between Urbano Arregui and Gregorio Marañón, specific actions are planned at different intersections, in order to improve accessibility, improvements to certain pedestrian routes, as well as the replacement of all vertical traffic signage that affects the actions described above.
Lot 2 (North Zone of the Municipality) , awarded to the company EIFFAGE INFRAESTRUCTURAS SA, presenting in its offer improvements from N1 to N16 of the project annex, resulting in a total surface area of 156,256 m2 for the resurfacing of Lot 2, thus including up to 66 streets and avenues of the city.
The accessibility and pedestrian route improvements of LOT 2 focus on actions in the area of Pedro Lorca street, in the area of the CEIP Acequión and Inmaculada schools and in the redevelopment of Áncora street, which includes the modification of the cross section due to the widening of sidewalks to improve accessibility, the total renewal of the lighting network will also be carried out, switching to LED technology with the consequent energy improvement and creating an underground telecommunications network, with the aim of eliminating the existing overhead network.
6 MONTHS OF EXECUTION
Finally, Sandra Sánchez reported that the construction period is estimated at 24 weeks (6 months) from the signing of the site handover report. The warranty period will last one year, starting from the date of acceptance of the work or, if applicable, the date of repair of any defects.
