The City Council is putting out to tender the works for the repair and improvement of access and facilities on the beaches of Cala Piteras, Playa del Cura and Cabo Cervera
The Local Governing Board of Torrevieja City Council approved this morning the tendering process for the adaptation and repair of various infrastructures on the municipality's beaches, specifically Cala Piteras, Playa del Cura, and Cabo Cervera. The aim is to improve the accessibility, safety, and functionality of these popular public spaces, which are frequented year-round. The base budget for the contract is €385,492.85 (including VAT), with an estimated completion time of three months, starting after the signing of the site handover report.
These actions are part of the municipal strategy for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Torrevieja coastline, ensuring that the beaches have modern, safe infrastructure adapted to the needs of its residents and visitors.
The works include a series of interventions mainly aimed at the repair and renovation of existing elements, as well as the installation of new infrastructure that will improve the public use of the beaches and their universal accessibility.
The general actions to be carried out include:
-Repair and adaptation of pedestrian access points
-Installation and renovation of adapted ramps
-Replacement and repair of railings
-Improvement of security features
-Upgrading infrastructure deteriorated by use and the passage of time
-Improvement of accessibility conditions for people with reduced mobility
These interventions respond to the need to ensure that beaches maintain optimal conditions of safety, accessibility and conservation, especially in areas subject to intensive use during the tourist season.
CALA PITERAS: IMPROVED ACCESS AND SECURITY IN AN AREA OF SPECIAL SCENIC VALUE
In Cala Piteras, work will be carried out to improve access and safety features in this coastal area characterized by its natural environment and rocky configuration.
The planned actions will reinforce safety at the entrances to the cove, improve the stability and functionality of the existing ramps, renew railings and protective elements, as well as facilitate safe access for users in an area with specific geomorphological characteristics.
These improvements will help ensure a safer and more accessible experience for users of this cove, especially during the busiest months.
PLAYA DEL CURA: INFRASTRUCTURE RENEWAL AT ONE OF THE MOST EMBLEMATIC AND BUSY URBAN BEACHES
Playa del Cura, one of the most popular beaches in the city, will be the subject of actions aimed at maintaining the high level of quality and safety required by its high occupancy throughout the year.
The planned actions include the repair of access points and walkways, renovation of ramps and adapted elements, replacement of deteriorated railings, improvement of universal accessibility and adaptation of existing infrastructure
CAPE CERVERA: UPGRADING FACILITIES AND IMPROVING ACCESSIBILITY ON THE NORTHERN COAST
In the Cabo Cervera area, actions will be carried out to improve the functionality of existing infrastructure and facilitate access for users in this enclave on the northern coast of Torrevieja.
The planned actions include repairing deteriorated structural elements, improving access and transit areas, installing new safety elements, and adapting infrastructure to current accessibility regulations.
MUNICIPAL COMMITMENT TO SAFETY AND UNIVERSAL ACCESSIBILITY
The Torrevieja City Council continues to advance in its commitment to improving public infrastructure and maintaining the coastline, focusing on actions that strengthen safety, universal accessibility and environmental sustainability.
