Torrevieja hosts the 8th edition of "Conversations about Health" dedicated to vaccination

Health experts will discuss the role of vaccines in health prevention and protection.

The Department of Prevention and Health Promotion of the Torrevieja City Council, headed by Councillor Rosa Cañón, continues with the organization of a new edition of the "Conversations about Health" series, whose objective is to bring current and health-related topics closer to the public in a friendly and accessible format, with the help of health professionals.

This eighth edition, scheduled for Thursday, May 21st, at 7:00 PM at the Royal Yacht Club of Torrevieja, will address a topic of paramount importance to public health: vaccination. The event is titled “Vaccines: Prevention is Care: Science, Protection, and Health.” This fundamental theme focuses on prevention as a key tool for protecting citizens and ensuring collective well-being.

The aim of this discussion is to provide the public with accurate and verified information, promoting knowledge of and confidence in vaccines as one of the most important advances in protecting health. To this end, renowned healthcare professionals will participate, sharing their expertise and addressing key questions surrounding vaccination.

- Mr. Armando Bastida, pediatric nurse, content creator and health communicator.

- Dr. María Mínguez, head of the Pediatrics Department at Quirónsalud Torrevieja Hospital.

- Dr. Vicente García Román, head of the Preventive Internal Medicine Service of the University Hospital of Torrevieja and deputy medical director of the Department of Health.

Rosa Cañón highlighted the success of this series, now in its eighth edition after seven previous sessions that were very well received and had high participation. These sessions have addressed key public health issues such as breast cancer, blood and bone marrow donation, fibromyalgia, Alzheimer's disease, perinatal grief, addictions, and HIV, solidifying this forum as a leading resource for health education in the city.
