The Torrevieja City Council, through the Department of Equality, has installed a Purple Point during the celebration of the May Fair 2026, in the Antonio Soria Park, with the aim of continuing to promote safe, equal and free festive spaces free of any type of sexist violence.

This information, awareness and support service will be operational throughout the May Fair, offering assistance and information to all those who need it, as well as highlighting the firm commitment of the Torrevieja City Council in the fight against violence against women.

The Purple Point will have the following operating hours:

-Thursday, May 7: from 8:00 p.m. to midnight

-Friday, May 8: from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM

-Saturday, May 9: from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM

-Sunday, May 10: from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM

The Department of Equality emphasizes that the main purpose of this initiative is to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of preventing and rejecting any type of sexual violence or sexist behavior in leisure and social spaces.

In addition, the Purple Point will provide information on the Valencian Government's protocol for action against sexual assaults, as well as resources for help, guidance and support in the face of possible situations of violence or harassment.

The installation of this Purple Point is part of the awareness campaigns that the City Council has been developing throughout the year on equality, prevention of gender violence and promotion of relationships based on respect and coexistence.

The City Council also calls for collaboration and awareness from all citizens to continue building together a Torrevieja free of violence and committed to real and effective equality between men and women.
