The Department of Equality and the Miguel Hernández University are organizing the training course "Masculinities. From hegemonic to egalitarian practices"
The Department of Equality of the Torrevieja City Council, in collaboration with the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, is launching the training course “Masculinities. From hegemonic to egalitarian practices”, a training proposal aimed at promoting analysis and reflection on the role of men in the construction of a more equal, just and co-responsible society.
Under the motto "Being a man today. Towards happy, healthy and egalitarian masculinities", this training action aims to bring students closer to the different research and studies developed around masculinities, delving into how traditional and hegemonic practices have historically influenced social and gender relations, as well as the need to move towards more egalitarian and healthy models.
The Department of Equality emphasizes that these types of initiatives allow for the creation of training and awareness-raising spaces aimed at all citizens, fostering a more committed vision of real equality between men and women and promoting values such as respect, co-responsibility and coexistence.
The course will be conducted entirely online and free of charge through the UMH virtual campus, from September 3 to 29, with a total duration of 25 teaching hours, thus facilitating the participation and reconciliation of all interested parties.
Pre-registration and enrollment can now be done through the website of the summer courses of the Miguel Hernández University: cursosdeverano.umh.es.
The Torrevieja City Council continues its commitment to developing programs and activities that contribute to advancing equality and raising social awareness, promoting training initiatives that foster a more engaged, participatory, and conscious citizenry regarding current challenges in equal opportunities. The course is funded by the Ministry of Equality's Responsible Partnerships Plan.
