Torrevieja promotes young talent with the 17th edition of the young entrepreneurs awards, endowed with 12,000 euros

The Torrevieja City Council, through its Department of Employment, Local Development, and Entrepreneurship, has published today in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante the call for entries for the 17th edition of the Young Entrepreneurs Awards, a well-established initiative designed to recognize, support, and promote young entrepreneurial talent in the municipality. The application period begins tomorrow, Thursday, and will close on September 8th. Applications must be submitted exclusively online through the municipal website.

The call for proposals has a total budget of 12,000 euros, with the aim of promoting job creation, supporting new business initiatives and continuing to strengthen the local economic fabric through innovative projects capable of generating new opportunities in Torrevieja.

The Councillor for Employment, Local Development and Entrepreneurship, Domingo Paredes, has highlighted the importance of continuing to support policies that help young people take the step towards entrepreneurship, stating that "we want to encourage all young people to take that step, to believe in their projects and to know that from the City Council they will find support, tools and opportunities to turn their ideas into a reality."

Paredes also pointed out that entrepreneurship is a fundamental path to the city's economic and social growth, asserting that “entrepreneurship is not just about creating a company; it's about generating opportunities, innovation, and employment. Young people have talent, creativity, and an enormous capacity to identify new needs and provide solutions. Torrevieja needs that talent, and we want to help them develop it.”

The awards are aimed at individuals and legal entities linked to the municipality of Torrevieja whose business projects have been created between September 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026, and initiatives related to strategic sectors such as tourism, local commerce, new technologies, environment, culture, sport, leisure and free time or rehabilitation and conservation of buildings may participate.

The call for entries establishes three cash prizes:

-First prize: 7,000 euros

-Second prize: 3,500 euros

-Third prize: 1,500 euros

The projects will be assessed by a technical Evaluation Committee, which will take into account aspects such as economic and technical viability, innovation, job creation, environmental commitment, equality, social economy and the personal or social situation of the promoters.

With this new call for applications, the Torrevieja City Council continues to reinforce its commitment to young people, betting on entrepreneurship as an engine of economic development and as a key tool to build a city with more opportunities and greater business dynamism.
