Torrevieja hosts the EBAU 2026 from June 2nd to 4th with 548 students from 12 educational centers in the region
Torrevieja will once again become one of the main educational epicenters of the Vega Baja next week due to the celebration of the University Access Tests (PAU/EBAU) 2026, which will take place on June 2, 3 and 4 in its International Auditorium, bringing together a total of 548 students from 12 educational centers in the region integrated into Tribunal 10 of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH).
The participating students belong to the La Purísima School and the institutes IES Mare Nostrum, IES 12 de Octubre, IES Mediterráneo, IES Las Lagunas, IES Playa Flamenca, IES Les Dunes, IES Remedios Muñoz, IES Libertas, IES Thiar, IES Los Alcores and IES Torrevigía.
The Councillor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, explained that the operation, coordinated between the Torrevieja City Council and the UMH, includes a complete protocol for access, internal distribution, mobility and technological control with the aim of guaranteeing the correct functioning of the tests and offering students a safe, orderly environment fully adapted to the demands of an academic event of this importance.
Students must arrive at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2nd, at the designated outdoor meeting points for each school. To gain entry, they must present their original ID card, passport, or residence permit with photograph.
The organizers also recommend that students bring their own lunch and snacks for breaks between exams, as the cafeteria will only have a limited service selling water, soft drinks, and snacks.
TECHNOLOGICAL SECURITY MEASURES
One of the most notable aspects of the system prepared for this year's university entrance exams (EBAU) will be the enhanced technological security measures implemented during the exams. Specifically, frequency detectors will be used continuously to prevent any incidents related to electronic devices.
In addition, mobile phones must remain completely switched off and stored inside backpacks, while access with smartwatches or any other electronic communication system will be totally prohibited.
The organization has also designed a specific access and internal distribution system for the International Auditorium to expedite student entry and ensure maximum efficiency and security. Access to the auditorium will be granted by name call and ID verification exactly 15 minutes before the start of each exam.
Each educational center will have a pre-assigned access door:
-Entrance A: students from the IES Les Dunes, Libertas, Playa Flamenca and Remedios Muñoz will have access.
-Entrance B: La Purísima School and IES Mare Nostrum.
-Entrance C: IES Mediterráneo and IES Las Lagunas.
-Entrance D: students from the IES 12 de Octubre, Los Alcores, Thiar and Torrevigía.
Likewise, the protocol includes specific regulations for access to restrooms during the day, establishing specific time windows and limiting the use of these facilities during the development of each exam to preserve normality, concentration and the safety of the tests.
Ricardo Recuero wanted to convey a message of support and encouragement to all students facing one of the most important academic tests of their educational life these days, highlighting the effort, perseverance and dedication shown throughout the course.
The celebration of the EBAU in Torrevieja once again highlights the city's capacity to host major educational and academic events of regional scope, offering modern, accessible facilities prepared to meet the needs of hundreds of students and teachers.
