The City Council is putting out to tender the new management contract for the Municipal Theatre, the International Auditorium and the Floating Museums
The Municipal Institute of Culture “Joaquín Chapaprieta” has approved in an extraordinary Governing Board meeting the tender for the new contract for the comprehensive management of the Municipal Theatre, the Torrevieja International Auditorium and the Floating Museums, a fundamental tool to continue consolidating the wide cultural, artistic and tourist offer of the city.
The approval took place last Friday, May 29, and will allow the contracting procedure to begin that will guarantee the continuity of services once the current contract, awarded four years ago to the joint venture Esatur-Mediapro and whose validity ends on August 31, is completed.
The new contract is being put out to tender with a base annual budget of €2,931,882.70 and an initial duration of one year, also including three possible extensions. Thus, the total estimated value of the contract amounts to €10,351,610.32.
Floating museums are included in the management contract for the first time.
One of the main new features of this new tender is the incorporation of the Floating Museums into the cultural management contract, thus expanding the services provided and reinforcing attention to one of the most unique tourist and heritage resources in Torrevieja.
The inclusion of these facilities will allow them to be equipped with specialized staff for visitor services, as well as a professional system for managing ticket sales, access control and opening and closing services, improving the experience of the numerous visitors they receive each year.
With this measure, the Municipal Institute of Culture is advancing in the professionalization of the management of municipal cultural spaces and in the improvement of services offered to both residents and tourists.
A STABLE CULTURAL PROGRAMMING AND EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT
The Municipal Institute of Culture emphasizes that this management model allows them to continue supporting a stable, diverse, and high-quality cultural program, capable of responding to the demands of the citizens and positioning Torrevieja as one of the main cultural benchmarks of the Valencian Community.
Outsourcing the management of services associated with the Municipal Theatre, the International Auditorium and the Floating Museums also facilitates greater operational capacity for the organization of events, shows, exhibitions and cultural activities throughout the year, guaranteeing the human and technical resources necessary for their proper development.
CULTURE, TOURISM AND ECONOMY HAND IN HAND
The activity generated by these cultural spaces has become an important engine of economic revitalization for the city, attracting visitors, boosting cultural tourism and favoring the activity of sectors such as hospitality, commerce and services.
With this new tender, the Municipal Institute of Culture “Joaquín Chapaprieta” reaffirms its commitment to a modern and efficient management of its cultural infrastructures, consolidating a network of spaces that has become one of the great benchmarks of cultural programming in the Vega Baja region and throughout the province of Alicante.
