Madrid Sports Summit has established itself as one of the leading professional forums in the sports sector, bringing together institutions, companies, federations, event organizers, tour operators, media outlets, and professionals from various fields related to sports. The event is designed as a strategic meeting point where sports are addressed as a genuine industry that generates wealth, employment, and opportunities for economic development.

During the two days, the Torrevieja City Council will have its own stand from which it will promote the city as a leading sports tourism destination, showcasing its facilities, resources, infrastructure and organizational capacity to host national and international training camps, training camps, competitions and sporting events.

Torrevieja's participation in this important trade fair is part of the strategy that the Department of Sports has been developing since 2019 to attract sporting events and open new markets for sports tourism. This line of work has allowed the city to position itself as one of the leading sports destinations in the Valencian Community and contribute significantly to reducing the seasonality of tourism throughout the year.

The Councillor for Sports, Diana Box, highlighted that “Torrevieja’s presence at the Madrid Sports Summit represents an excellent opportunity to continue strengthening our network of professional contacts, generate new business opportunities linked to sports for the city and continue advancing in the consolidation of Torrevieja as a top-level sports destination.”

As part of the official program of the congress, the Councillor for Sports will participate on Wednesday, June 17, in a round table focused on sports development strategies and the keys to success for sports destinations, sharing experiences and best practices with other representatives of the sector.

Also, on Thursday, June 18, Torrevieja will be the focus of a specific presentation in the event's exhibition area entitled "Torrevieja, your comprehensive sports destination throughout the year," where a promotional video will be shown and the main strengths that have made the city a benchmark for organizing events and hosting national and international athletes will be presented.

In parallel, during the two days of the fair, the municipal delegation will hold several pre-arranged working meetings with tour operators, specialized consultants, and agents linked to international markets that generate sports tourism, with the aim of generating new opportunities for collaboration and continuing to promote the arrival of athletes and events to the city.
