The natural swimming pools area of the Juan Aparicio promenade reopens for bathing after the rapid normalization of water parameters
The Beaches and Environment departments of Torrevieja City Council report that the bathing area of the Natural Pools of Paseo Juan Aparicio has been reopened to the public this morning, after the results of the new analyses carried out have confirmed that the water fully complies with the parameters established for bathing.
The General Directorate of Environmental Quality and Education of the Valencian Government has officially informed the City Council of the closure of the short-term pollution episode detected in a routine control, authorizing the use of this popular bathing area again after verifying that the values analyzed are within the limits required by current regulations.
From the very beginning, the City Council preventively activated the protocol contemplated in the Beach Management System, coordinated by the Beaches and Environment departments.
After receiving the communication from the Generalitat, the Local Police proceeded to temporarily close the bathing area, the lifeguard service raised the red flag and AGAMED carried out a new sampling to verify the evolution of the parameters detected.
The analyses carried out just one day later reflect a total recovery of the microbiological values, confirming that it was an isolated and short-lived episode that was managed as quickly as possible by all the administrations and services involved.
SAFETY AND QUALITY GUARANTEE FOR USERS
The Torrevieja City Council highlights the effectiveness of the bathing water quality control and monitoring systems, which allow for the early detection of any issues and immediate action to ensure the safety of users.
It also expresses gratitude for the collaboration and coordination maintained between the Valencian Government, the Beaches and Environment departments, AGAMED, the Local Police and the lifeguard service, whose joint action has allowed normality to be restored in less than 24 hours.
With the reopening of this area of the Juan Aparicio Promenade Natural Pools, residents and visitors can once again enjoy one of the most emblematic bathing areas of the Torrevieja coastline with complete peace of mind, while maintaining the usual quality controls that guarantee the excellence of the municipality's waters.
The Torrevieja City Council would like to thank the bathers for their understanding, cooperation and responsibility during the preventive closure, and apologize for any inconvenience caused to those who were unable to enjoy this bathing area yesterday.
