The City Council launches the San Roque civic centre project, a new space for community life, sports and neighborhood participation

The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council has approved in its session held this morning the contract file, the technical data sheet, the technical specifications and the administrative clauses for the contracting of the drafting of the projects and the technical direction of the construction works of the future San Roque Civic Center and the regeneration of its surroundings, an action included in the Integrated Action Plan (PAI) of Torrevieja -within the Integrated Project 2 of Operation 4- and co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

This important project is part of the municipality's Integrated Local Development Strategy (EDIL) and falls within the European Union's Political Objective 5, "A Europe closer to its citizens", which aims to improve the quality of life, social cohesion and sustainable development of urban environments.

A TRANSFORMATIVE PROJECT TO REVITALIZE THE SAN ROQUE NEIGHBORHOOD

The project includes both the construction of a modern civic center and the urban regeneration of its surroundings, with the aim of providing the neighborhood with new spaces for coexistence, citizen participation, the development of social and cultural activities and the improvement of the urban quality of the environment.

The project responds to the need to continue modernizing municipal infrastructure and strengthening local services for residents, while also creating new, more accessible, inclusive public spaces adapted to the current needs of citizens.

The project involves the construction of a building of approximately 700 square meters distributed over two floors, along with the urbanization and improvement of a plot of approximately 1,900 square meters, creating a new landmark space for the San Roque neighborhood.

The initial estimate of the execution budget for the center amounts to 1,517,079.82 euros , while the contract for the drafting of the projects and the technical direction has a base tender budget of 171,682.80 euros (VAT included).

FOUR AND A HALF MONTHS TO HAVE THE PROJECT AVAILABLE

The approved contract establishes a maximum period of 18 weeks (four and a half months) for the drafting of all the necessary technical documentation, including the basic and execution project, safety and health studies, waste management, quality control and complementary facility projects, thus allowing the final document to be available for the future tendering of the works.

A comprehensive project that will revitalize the surroundings and provide the neighborhood with new services and infrastructure for the development of social, cultural and community activities.
