The program has been organized in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, the Torrevieja Diversa association, the University of Alicante, and various social and cultural entities in the municipality. The Vista Alegre Promenade will be the setting, on July 4th, for the grand closing party of Torrevieja Pride 2026, featuring performances, music, and shows until the early hours, with artists, drag queens, DJs, and performers offering a night of celebrating diversity open to residents and visitors. On June 30th, the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center will host the talk and discussion "Pride with Meaning," organized by the University of Alicante's Torrevieja branch and presented by researcher and specialist José Vázquez-González.

The Torrevieja City Council, through the Department of Social Welfare, together with the Torrevieja Diversa association and various collaborating entities, has presented the program for Torrevieja Pride 2026 , an initiative that will take place between June 26 and July 4 with the aim of promoting equality, inclusion, respect and visibility of the LGTBIQ+ community.

For more than a week, the city will be the scene of cultural, educational and festive activities aimed at all citizens, combining the demand for rights with proposals for coexistence, social participation and celebration of diversity.

The events will begin next Friday, June 26, with the traditional reading of the Pride manifesto, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the main entrance of the Torrevieja Town Hall.

At the same time, an information table will be set up in the Plaza de la Constitución, where information and educational material related to sexual and gender diversity will be offered, as well as awareness and support resources for citizens.

The Pride Gala will bring the play “Little Family Secrets” to the Palace of Music.

The program continues that same afternoon with the Pride Gala 2026, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Palacio de la Música. The theater company La Cueva de Melpómene will perform the play “Pequeños secretos de familia” (Little Family Secrets), written and directed by José Manuel Vidal. This theatrical production addresses family relationships, prejudices, acceptance, and diversity with humor and reflection, making it one of the highlights of the cultural program.

The gala aims to establish itself as a space for meeting, culture and visibility, using the performing arts as a tool to promote respect, empathy and coexistence.

A TALK-DISCUSSION TO REFLECT ON THE TRANSFORMATIVE ROLE OF LGBTQ+ EVENTS

On Tuesday, June 30 , at 7:00 p.m. , the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center will host the talk-colloquium “Pride with meaning: survival kit to organize LGTBIQ+ events with social impact, community and local projection” , given by the researcher, teacher and specialist in communication and diversity José Vázquez-González , from the University of Seville.

This session offers a practical, strategic, and reflective approach to organizing events related to sexual and gender diversity, especially within the context of Pride celebrations. The goal is to analyze how these initiatives can transcend mere festive celebrations and become genuine tools for social transformation, community strengthening, and local revitalization.

The conference will address key aspects such as defining objectives, identifying audiences and groups involved, building a diverse and inclusive program, effectively communicating messages, generating alliances with social entities, institutions and companies, as well as evaluating the social, cultural and economic impact that this type of event can generate.

José Vázquez-González will also analyze some of the main challenges currently facing diversity-related events, warning of risks such as improvisation, a lack of strategic planning, the perpetuation of stereotypes, and pinkwashing . In response, he will advocate for the development of initiatives that connect the fight for rights with diverse areas such as culture, education, tourism, civic engagement, and local economic development.

The talk will also include examples of best practices developed in both large cities and smaller municipalities, demonstrating that it is possible to build high-impact social projects without large budgets. The event is aimed at associations, social organizations, public administrations, cultural agents, tourism professionals, students, and anyone interested in learning how events can become drivers of community engagement, visibility, and social cohesion.

José Vázquez-González has extensive academic and professional experience in the fields of communication, advertising, events, and LGBTQ+ diversity. He has participated in research on Seville Pride and has given specialized lectures in Spain, Argentina, and Chile. He has also undertaken international academic stays that have allowed him to study some of the main Pride events held in cities such as London, Bristol, Belfast, Brighton, and Manchester, making him one of the most recognized voices in the analysis of the social and community impact of these types of initiatives.

The Vista Alegre Promenade will host the grand finale of Torrevieja Pride 2026.

The program will culminate on Saturday, July 4th, at Paseo Vista Alegre, with a grand party open to the public that will bring together music, performances and shows from 8:30 pm until the early hours of the morning.

The day will begin with a musical session by DJ Bimba del Bar and will continue with performances by Bloody Mary and Lexi Fox, Diana Queen, Kitty del Antro, Chloe Vittu, Sobervia Malibú and Paula Muñoz & Brian Sessarego, ending with a closing session by DJ Bimba del Bar.

This grand celebration aims to become an open, participatory and inclusive meeting space, where neighbors and visitors can enjoy a night dedicated to freedom, diversity and respect.
