LA ACTIVIDAD "MIÉRCOLES DE BIENESTAR" CONCLUYE CON UN BALANCE MUY POSITIVO TRAS FAVORECER LA INTEGRACIÓN DE MÁS DE UNA TREINTENA DE PERSONAS MIGRANTES EN TORREVIEJA
The ten sessions held have strengthened emotional well-being, self-care and the creation of support networks among the participants, who have received a certificate of completion from Councillor Óscar Urtasun.

The Department of Social Welfare, Family, Coexistence and Integration and Housing of the Torrevieja City Council, through the PANGEA Office, has concluded with an excellent balance the activity "Wednesday of Wellbeing: A New Home, A New Opportunity", an initiative developed between the months of February and July 2026 that has provided an important boost to the process of integration, support and emotional wellbeing of the migrants residing in the municipality.

This program was created with the aim of offering a safe space for support, learning and accompaniment, providing practical tools that promote personal, emotional and social well-being during the process of adapting to a new reality, while reinforcing intercultural coexistence and social cohesion.

A space to share experiences, strengthen skills and create connections

During these five months, a total of 10 group sessions have been held in the Torrevieja Multipurpose Building, focused on strengthening personal resources, developing self-care strategies, emotional management, and promoting psychological and social well-being.

The different activities developed have allowed the participants to share experiences, acquire new tools to face daily challenges and establish relationships of mutual support, generating a space of trust that has contributed significantly to promoting their integration into the municipality.

PARTICIPATION OF PEOPLE FROM NINE DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES

The activity involved 33 people, 30 of whom were women and 3 men, reflecting the cultural diversity that characterizes Torrevieja.

Specifically, participants came from Colombia, Morocco, Argentina, Russia, Venezuela, Ukraine, Ecuador, Peru, and Romania, a multicultural representation that enriched the development of all sessions through the exchange of experiences and shared knowledge.

In recognition of their involvement, perseverance and benefit from the activity, all participants received a certificate presented by the Councilor for Coexistence and Integration, Óscar Urtasun.

The final evaluation carried out by the PANGEA Office highlights the success achieved by this initiative. The results obtained demonstrate the usefulness of this space as a tool for support and personal empowerment for migrants, fully meeting the objectives set at its inception.

The program has contributed to improving the emotional and social well-being of the participants, strengthening their personal skills, promoting their autonomy and facilitating their integration into the Torrevieja society.

THANK YOU TO ALL PARTICIPANTS

The Department of Social Welfare and the PANGEA Office would like to express their special gratitude to all those who have been part of this experience for the trust placed in the program, their commitment during these months and the participatory attitude demonstrated in each of the sessions.

Their involvement, generosity in sharing personal experiences, and the mutual support generated within the group have transformed "Wellbeing Wednesdays: A New Home, A New Opportunity" into a true space for meeting, learning, and shared growth, establishing itself as a benchmark initiative to continue building an increasingly integrated, inclusive, and cohesive Torrevieja.
