Torrevieja brings together Paloma San Basilio, Galder Varas, the Casanovas Flute Orchestra and the "Mario Bustillo" Choir for an intense cultural weekend
Casanovas Flute Orchestra
On Friday, July 3rd, at 8:00 PM, the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre will host the concert "The Golden Age of the Flute," performed by the Casanovas Flute Orchestra. The program offers a journey through the 18th century, considered the golden age of this instrument, with works by composers such as Vivaldi, Telemann, Bach, Handel, Haydn, and Mozart.
Founded by Juan Francisco Cayuelas Grao and José Francisco Sánchez Sánchez, the Casanovas Flute Orchestra has become one of the largest flute ensembles in Spain. The concert will combine works written for solo flute with transcriptions of great Baroque and Classical compositions, performed by an ensemble that also includes bass clarinet, bassoon, cello, double bass, percussion, and piano.
An unmissable event for lovers of classical music and for discovering the sonic possibilities of an instrument that is a protagonist of the universal repertoire.
Dulcinea, with Paloma San Basilio
On Saturday, July 4th, at 8:00 PM, the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre will host “Dulcinea,” a performance starring Paloma San Basilio. The artist brings to life a contemporary Dulcinea who questions the role history has assigned her and reflects, with humor, irony, and emotion, on the place of ideals in a society marked by appearances. Through a text brimming with sensitivity and relevance, the play invites the audience to consider whether there is still room for the dreams, ethics, and values embodied by Cervantes's universe.
Paloma San Basilio, one of the most important voices in Spanish music and a leading figure in musical theatre, returns to the stage with an intimate and deeply human proposal that combines performance, words and emotion.
Galder Varas: “This is not a test”
On Saturday, July 4th, at 8:30 pm, the Torrevieja International Auditorium will host Galder Varas with “This Is Not a Test,” a stand-up comedy show where improvisation and audience interaction take center stage. Half scripted monologue, half creative workshop, Galder Varas will use the performance to test new material, situations, and dynamics that evolve live thanks to the audience's response.
Having become one of the most followed comedians on the national scene, he has won over millions of people through social media and has brought that success to the stage with a close, spontaneous and intelligent style.
The last tickets for the show are now on sale.
19th Anniversary of the Torrevieja Choir "Mario Bustillo"
On Sunday, July 5th, at 8:00 PM, the Municipal Theater will host the commemorative concert for the 19th Anniversary of the Torrevieja Choir "Mario Bustillo". The choir will present a performance featuring some of the most representative works from its repertoire, with a selection of arias and choruses from opera, zarzuela, international melodies, musicals, boleros, pop, and the traditional habaneras that form part of the city's cultural identity.
The voices of the Orfeón and its soloists will star in an evening that highlights almost two decades of history of one of the most outstanding choral groups in Torrevieja.
