Torrevieja City Council promotes the University Hospital project by initiating the process for the early transfer of the land.
The Torrevieja City Council has taken a decisive step towards making the expansion of the Torrevieja University Hospital a reality with the signing, by the mayor, Eduardo Dolón, of the decree by which the urban planning agreement of commitment to advance transfer of the public land intended for this important health infrastructure is admitted for processing.
This resolution officially initiates the administrative process of the agreement, which will allow the Ministry of Health to make available the land necessary for the future expansion of the University Hospital, an action long demanded by the city and considered strategic to continue improving healthcare in Torrevieja and its entire area of influence.
The agreement stipulates the voluntary and early transfer of the public development plot PQM-1 , located in Sector S-29 "La Ceñuela," with a total area of 11,492 square meters, owned by the company Explotaciones Agrícolas La Ceñuela, SL, which also acts as the urban development agent for the sector. This early transfer will expedite the availability of the land without having to wait for the completion of the urban land readjustment process.
AN URBAN PLANNING TOOL TO ACCELERATE A PRIORITY HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE
The report issued by the municipal technical services considers this formula of early transfer favorable, understanding that it constitutes an ideal urban planning tool to urgently address the general interest, without harming the urban planning of the sector or the economic rights of the developer in the future urban development.
Thanks to this mechanism, the City Council is making progress in providing the Valencian Regional Government with the necessary land so that the Ministry of Health can plan and execute the expansion of the Torrevieja University Hospital, one of the most important health projects for the municipality and for all the towns that make up the Torrevieja Health Department.
Following the signing of the Mayor's decree, the initial text of the agreement will be subject to a 20-day public information period, through its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province and on the municipal notice board, so that any interested party may submit any allegations they deem appropriate before its final approval.
Once this administrative phase is completed and any potential objections have been resolved in the Local Governing Board, the City Council will continue processing the agreement to finalize the early transfer of the land and thus enable the Ministry of Health to have the necessary land available as soon as possible to develop the expansion of the Torrevieja University Hospital.
