The Municipal Institute of Culture is organizing a free introductory workshop on pointillism to foster creativity in a relaxed and participatory environment.
The Municipal Institute of Culture "Joaquín Chapaprieta", in collaboration with AGAMED, has opened the registration period for an Introduction to Pointillism Workshop, a proposal aimed at all those interested in discovering this artistic technique and developing their creativity in a relaxed and participatory environment.
The course will be held at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center, between July 27 and August 21, from 10:00 to 12:00, with one session per week, offering attendees practical training focused on learning the basic techniques of pointillism through the creation of mandalas.
The workshop is designed as an introductory activity, so no prior experience is necessary. Throughout the sessions, participants will learn to master this painting technique based on the application of colored dots, developing their manual dexterity, concentration, and artistic expression while creating decorative compositions inspired by mandalas.
In addition to its artistic component, pointillism applied to the creation of mandalas offers numerous benefits for personal well-being. This practice promotes relaxation, helps reduce levels of anxiety, distress, and stress, and contributes to focusing attention, allowing one to disconnect from negative thoughts and enhance calmness and creativity.
Participation in the workshop is completely free, although each student must purchase the necessary materials for the sessions. The approximate cost of materials ranges from 20 to 25 euros and includes dotting tools, four colors of acrylic paint (chosen by the participant), a package of baby wipes, and small containers for holding the paint.
Those interested can now register through the online portal of the Municipal Institute of Culture. With this initiative, the Torrevieja City Council continues to expand its cultural and educational programming, offering accessible activities that promote learning new artistic disciplines and foster emotional well-being and civic engagement.
