This morning, Torrevieja received the Family Tourism Seal, a certification from the Spanish Federation of Large Families (FEFN) that recognizes the city as a destination with resources, activities and services adapted to the needs of families.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, received the award from Eduardo Hervás, president of the Federation of Large Families of the Valencian Community and member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Federation of Large Families. With this recognition, Torrevieja consolidates its position as one of the leading family destinations in the Mediterranean.

IDEAL DESTINATION FOR FAMILY TOURISM

Torrevieja is an ideal destination for family tourism thanks to its combination of nature, beaches, and outdoor activities. Among its main attractions are the La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons Natural Park, with its spectacular Pink Lagoon and birdwatching trails; its beautiful coves, the wide La Mata beach, Cabo Cervera cove, Los Locos beach, El Cura beach, Los Náufragos beach, and Piteras cove, perfect for enjoying with children; the Parque de las Naciones (Park of Nations), with its large lake, green areas, and playgrounds; La Siesta Park, ideal for toddlers; the S-61 Dolphin Floating Submarine Museum, unique in Spain; the seafront promenades and the Vista Alegre Promenade, next to the port and the iconic La Bella Lola sculpture; as well as a wide range of parks, nautical activities, water parks, markets, and a varied cultural and leisure program throughout the year, making the city a complete destination for families.

Torrevieja also has specific tools to facilitate the stay of the little ones, such as its Children's Guide, which allows you to discover the city in a fun and entertaining way.

REFERENCE IN THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

With the addition of Torrevieja, the Valencian Community continues to strengthen its commitment to family tourism, joining other destinations and entities that already have this Seal, such as Valencia, Peñíscola, Alcalà de Xivert – Alcossebre, or numerous accommodations in the three provinces, such as the Hotel Playas de Torrevieja, among others.

The Family Tourism Seal was created in 2013 by the Spanish Federation of Large Families (FEFN) to recognize and distinguish destinations, accommodations, and tourism businesses that cater to the needs of families when they travel and adapt to their specific requirements. It also aims to be a resource for families, helping them find the best places for their holidays and leisure time. To this end, it offers various communication channels, including a comprehensive information portal, www.familiayturismo.com , where families can find information on all the entities endorsed with the Family Tourism Seal—around 200 throughout Spain—including destinations, accommodations, and activities suitable and geared towards families.
