The budget amendment includes, among its main actions, the incorporation of new earmarked capital grants for social organizations in the municipality. Specifically, it allocates €150,000 to ADIEM for its new project to create a residential care facility for people with mental health problems requiring extensive support , which will be built next to the Day Center and the existing CRIS (Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center) on Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas; €90,000 for the new headquarters of ASIMEP; and €70,000 for ALPE.

For his part, the Finance Councillor, Domingo Paredes, highlighted that “this is a responsible, balanced budget modification aimed at addressing real needs, with a significant social component and with actions that will have a direct impact on the quality of life of the residents of Torrevieja.”
STRENGTHENING UNIVERSITY ACTIVITY IN TORREVIEJA
The amendment also includes new funding for the education and university sectors. Specifically, it anticipates an increase of €71,000 for the agreement with the UNED (National University of Distance Education), as well as €29,761 for the Miguel Hernández University (UMH), due to the expansion of the agreement that will allow progress to be made in opening the new university campus in Torrevieja.
Dolón emphasized that “Torrevieja continues to take firm steps to consolidate itself as a university city, expanding educational opportunities and making it easier for our young people to access higher education without having to leave.”
MORE THAN 6.5 MILLION EUROS FOR THE RENOVATION OF GREEN AREAS
One of the most important sections of the budget amendment will be the one allocated to the remodeling of green areas, with a budget of 6,529,241 euros, among whose actions is included the execution of sector 25.
In addition, the amendment includes other complementary items, such as 17,188 euros for the maintenance of green areas and 34,722 euros for machinery, technical installations and equipment, with the aim of reinforcing the means available for the conservation and improvement of these spaces.
