The works to complete the area around the Levante Dock have been awarded for 3.58 million euros, an 8.88% reduction from the tender budget.

The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council has awarded the works for the completion of the area around the Levante Dike and the auxiliary infrastructures of the new accesses to this emblematic space of the city to the company CHM Obras e Infraestructuras, SA, for a total amount of 3,580,480.29 euros (VAT included).

The award represents a decrease of 8.88% compared to the base budget of the tender, which amounted to 3,929,412.08 euros, which represents a saving for the municipal coffers of 348,931.79 euros, while fully maintaining the services planned in the project.

The works will complete the refurbishment of the area surrounding the Levante Dock, providing it with all the necessary services and facilities for its full functionality. Among the planned actions are the completion of the spaces located under the access ramp, the installation of electrical systems, interior and exterior lighting, telecommunications, air conditioning and ventilation, fire protection systems, ornamental fountains, paving, carpentry, enclosures and urban amenities, and the provision of public restrooms within the port area, thus culminating one of the strategic projects for integration between the city and the port.

THE BEST RATED OFFER

Six specialized companies from the public works sector participated in the open procedure, with CHM Obras e Infraestructuras, SA being awarded the contract after obtaining the highest overall score with 97.74 points .

The final standings of the competition were as follows:

- Gestaser, Obras y Servicios, SL (22.50 points, because it did not submit an improved economic offer, nor did it extend the guarantee period nor offer the improvements foreseen in the tender specifications , so it obtained 0 points in those three objective criteria).

In addition to the offered price, CHM Obras e Infraestructuras incorporates significant improvements to the contract, including:

-Extension of the warranty period by an additional 45 months.

-Execution of a stainless steel mesh for the creation of shade areas using climbing vegetation.

-Installation of skid-resistant steel railings as an additional safety element.

-Installation of LED luminaires suspended on catenary to reinforce the ambient and functional lighting of pedestrian routes.

EIGHT MONTHS OF EXECUTION

The contract establishes an execution period of eight months, also contemplating the possibility of carrying out partial acceptances of the work to coordinate its commissioning with the rest of the actions that are developed in the port area.

With this award, the Torrevieja City Council is finalizing the comprehensive transformation of the port area, completing an action that will allow the completion of one of the most representative urban spaces of the city and improve the connection between the port and the urban center, offering residents and visitors a fully urbanized, accessible and equipped environment.
