The San Roque Civic Centre is moving forward with the awarding of the project drafting and technical management

The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council has awarded in its session held this morning the contract for the drafting of the projects and the technical direction of the construction works of the future San Roque Civic Center and the regeneration of its surroundings, thus taking a new step to make a reality of an action aimed at providing this neighborhood with new spaces and services for its residents.

The contract has been awarded to the local architect Francisco Juárez Pozuelo for an amount of 157,948.19 euros (VAT included), which corresponds to a reduction of 8.00% with respect to the tender price, and includes both the preparation of all the technical documentation necessary for the future execution of the action as well as the subsequent technical direction of the works.

The action is included in the Integrated Action Plan (PAI) of Torrevieja, within Integrated Project 2 of Operation 4, and is part of the Local Integrated Development Strategy (EDIL) of the municipality, being co-financed 60% by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The award represents the continuation of the procedure initiated last June, when the Local Governing Board approved the contract file, the technical data sheet and the corresponding specifications to start the drafting of the project and the technical direction.

The future San Roque Civic Center is envisioned as a new landmark for the neighborhood, intended to promote coexistence, citizen participation and the development of social, cultural and community activities, while also enabling progress in the urban regeneration of its surroundings.

The project envisions the construction of a building of approximately 700 square meters distributed over two floors, along with the urbanization and improvement of a plot of approximately 1,900 square meters, creating a new public space that is more accessible, inclusive and adapted to the current needs of the citizens.

The initial estimate of the execution budget for the center amounts to 1,517,079.82 euros, to which is added the contract now awarded for the drafting of the projects and the subsequent technical direction.

FOUR AND A HALF MONTHS TO HAVE THE PROJECT AVAILABLE

Once the contract is formalized, the first phase of the work will begin, which involves drafting the technical documents necessary for the project's execution. The winning bidder will have a maximum of 18 weeks, equivalent to four and a half months, within which the project must be approved.

This phase will include the preparation of the necessary technical documentation, including the basic and execution project and the corresponding complementary studies and projects planned for the action.

The second phase of the contract will correspond to the technical management of the works, the duration of which will be linked to the subsequent execution contract.

In this way, the Torrevieja City Council continues to advance in the processing of a strategic action for San Roque, with the objective of having the definitive project that will allow the next step towards the future tendering and execution of the works of the new Civic Center and the regeneration of its surroundings.
