The Parks and Gardens department carries out important work in more than a dozen green spaces

The municipal Parks and Gardens service has continued throughout the month of July with the usual development of the conservation work of parks, gardens and green spaces of the municipality, despite the high temperatures and the successive heat waves recorded during the last few weeks.

The work has proceeded normally, adapting the organization of the teams to the weather conditions and applying at all times the necessary preventive measures to guarantee the safety and well-being of the workers in the face of the high temperatures.

During this period, pruning, trimming, mowing, cleaning, maintenance and improvement of the irrigation network have been carried out in different parts of the municipality, including the Reina de la Sal Park, the La Siesta Park, the Plaza de la Constitución, the Plaza del Calvario, the Plaza Natalio Sáez, the Avenida del Agua, the Mar Azul sector, the Los Altos area and other green spaces distributed throughout the city.

In addition, work has been carried out to review, repair and improve the irrigation network to ensure the proper condition of the vegetation during the months of greatest water demand, as well as conservation work in unique spaces such as the canal of the Molino del Agua Park and the repair of the fountain of the Paseo Vista Alegre after the damage caused by the accumulation of people during the celebrations for the victory of the Spanish team in the World Cup final.

All these actions are part of the continuous maintenance that is carried out throughout the year in the more than 360 green areas of Torrevieja, adapting the work to the needs of each season to guarantee green spaces that are well cared for, safe and in the best condition for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.

The Councillor for Parks and Gardens, Concha Sala, highlighted the commitment of the municipal service and all the professionals who work there, emphasizing that “the care of green spaces does not stop during the summer. Despite the high temperatures, the work has continued as normal thanks to planning adapted to the weather conditions and compliance with all the necessary preventative measures to protect the workers, while ensuring that our parks and gardens continue to offer the best possible image to residents and visitors.”

The Parks and Gardens Department reminds residents that the service's work is ongoing and takes place daily in all neighborhoods of the municipality.
