The deadline is now open for entries to the 8th Photography Contest in Tribute to the Elderly

Under the slogan "Torrevieja and I", the images must reflect the participants' personal relationship with the city, its landscapes, its corners, its customs or their memories

The competition is open to pensioners aged 60 and over who are registered residents of Torrevieja. Participants may submit a maximum of two photographs until September 21st. Entries can be sent to terceraedad@torrevieja.eu or delivered in person to the Department for Senior Citizens, located at Calle Maldonado, number 5.

The Councillor for Senior Citizens of the Torrevieja City Council, Inmaculada Montesinos, reports that the deadline for participating in the eighth edition of the Photography Contest Tribute to the Elderly is now open, which will be held under the motto "Torrevieja and I".

The competition invites senior citizens of the municipality to share their unique perspective on Torrevieja and their connection to the city through photography. The images can depict its landscapes, streets, beaches, traditions, everyday spaces, personal encounters, or any other element that represents memories, experiences, and emotions associated with the municipality.

Inmaculada Montesinos highlighted that this competition "allows us to get to know Torrevieja through the eyes and experience of our elders, who are an essential part of the history, the present and the identity of the city."

REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE

The 8th Photography Contest Tribute to the Elderly is aimed at people who meet the following requirements:

  • Being a pensioner and over 60 years old.
  • To be registered as a resident in Torrevieja.
  • Submit a maximum of two photographs per participant.

The deadline for submitting photos, which opened yesterday, Friday, August 28, is September 21. Photographs can be sent by email to terceraedad@torrevieja.eu . They can also be delivered in person in a sealed envelope to the Senior Citizens' Department, located at 5 Maldonado Street, indicating the participant's name and a contact phone number.

AWARDS CEREMONY AT THE MUNICIPAL THEATRE

The awards ceremony for the 8th Photography Competition Tribute to the Elderly will take place coinciding with the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, during a gala held at the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre.

Inmaculada Montesinos has encouraged pensioners over 60 years of age in the municipality to participate in this initiative and share "those images that show what Torrevieja means to each of them and how the city is part of their lives."
