The Torrevieja City Council's Beaches Department activated this morning the protocol foreseen in the Beach Management System, after receiving a communication from the General Directorate of Environmental Quality and Education of the Valencian Government regarding a specific incident detected in the routine water quality controls carried out in Cala Piteras.

Immediately, and under the coordination of the Beaches Department, the entire operation planned for these cases was put into action. The Local Police proceeded to temporarily close the bathing area, while the lifeguard service raised the red flag and informed users about this preventative measure.
