Torrevieja Recognizes the Academic Excellence of its Students

Tomorrow, Thursday, September 17, at 8:00 p.m., the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre will host the 5th Edition of the “City of Torrevieja” Academic Excellence Awards 2026, an initiative aimed at recognizing the effort, perseverance and excellent results of Torrevieja students who completed their studies during the 2024/2025 academic year.

The awards cover all educational stages: Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), Baccalaureate, Intermediate and Advanced Vocational Training, University Degrees, and Higher Artistic Education. Award-winning students will also receive a certificate in recognition of their academic achievements.

The Councillor for Youth, Domingo Paredes, highlighted that these awards reflect the commitment of the Torrevieja City Council to young talent and the culture of effort, while also seeking to encourage students to continue their education and pursue their personal and professional goals.

The Municipal Theatre will thus become a space for celebration and recognition of the talent and effort of the young people of Torrevieja, in a gala that will combine academic merit, emotion and humor.

José Luis Calero arrives in Torrevieja ready to prescribe a good dose of humor.

On Friday, September 18, at 8:30 p.m., the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre will welcome José Luis Calero with "Humorista de Guardia" (Comedian on Duty), his third national tour show, with which he returns to the stage after the success of his two previous productions.

With over 1.5 million followers on social media, the Andalusian comedian has become one of the leading names in the new Spanish comedy scene, now bringing to the stage that relatable and everyday humor with which he has connected with a large community of followers.

In “Comedian on Duty,” Calero starts from a simple premise: between work, family, and financial problems, and the worries of daily life, it has never been more necessary to have a comedian on call. Through relatable situations and stories in which it will be easy to see oneself reflected, he proposes laughter as the best medicine to unwind for a night.

A monologue full of spontaneity and everyday humor with which José Luis Calero promises to make you forget your problems and demonstrate that, at least on stage, some worries can also be cured with laughter.

BORJA NISO RETURNS TO THE ESSENCE OF LUDOVICO EINAUDI AT THE INTERNATIONAL AUDITORIUM

On Saturday, September 19, at 7:00 p.m., the Torrevieja International Auditorium will host Ludovico Einaudi Essential, the new show by pianist Borja Niso, a tribute to the music of one of the most internationally recognized contemporary composers.

After five years developing various theatrical and musical projects, Borja Niso embarks on a new artistic phase, returning to the compositions of Ludovico Einaudi, which have significantly influenced his career. This time, he approaches them with a minimalist and introspective mindset, in which the piano takes center stage.

Accompanied by cellist Maria Montes, Niso will reinterpret some of the most emblematic pieces of the Italian composer, including Experience, Nuvole Bianche, Una Mattina, I Giorni, Le Onde, Divenire, Primavera or Fly, within a repertoire that will cover a good part of Einaudi's musical universe.

For approximately 100 minutes, the audience will be able to immerse themselves in a proposal designed to listen to and feel music in its purest form, in an intimate and emotional concert that represents for Borja Niso a return to his roots and the beginning of a new stage on stage.
