The resurfacing, accessibility and pedestrian route improvement works in Mar Azul and Lo Ferrís have been completed

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the councilor for Urban Services, Sandra Sánchez, visited this morning, together with residents of the Mar Azul area, the completion of the resurfacing works, improvement of pedestrian routes and accessibility that the City Council is carrying out in the urbanizations of Mar Azul and Lo Ferrís.

This project, now in its final phase, has comprehensively improved the condition of the roads, pedestrian mobility, and accessibility in various parts of these urbanizations.

The works have included the improvement of various pedestrian routes in areas where there was previously no continuity, with approximately 200 linear meters of new routes being created, in addition to 40 specific actions to improve accessibility. All of this work was carried out prior to the resurfacing of the streets.

22,289 SQUARE METERS OF RESUSPENSION IN MAR AZUL AND LO FERRÍS

The total surface area resurfaced on Mar Azul and Lo Ferrís streets reaches 22,289 square meters. Once this work is completed, the application of new road markings and the installation of new vertical signage are also underway.

In total, the investment corresponding to the resurfacing, the new pedestrian routes, the accessibility improvements, signage and other actions carried out in Mar Azul and Lo Ferrís amounts to 480,000 euros.

The mayor and the councillor for Urban Services were able to see, together with the residents, the results of an action aimed at improving traffic conditions, accessibility and pedestrian safety in this residential area of the municipality.

MORE THAN 171,000 SQUARE METERS OF REPAVING IN THE SOUTHERN ZONE

The works in Mar Azul and Lo Ferrís are included in Lot 1, corresponding to the southern area of the municipality, whose works began on June 26 and were awarded to the company PAVASAL Empresa Constructora SAU

This lot includes the execution of a total of 171,273 square meters of resurfacing, reaching up to 57 streets and avenues in Torrevieja, with a total budget of 3,238,774.49 euros.

Within this municipal program, several main roads that support a high traffic intensity have already been resurfaced, including the Tomás Boj Andreu avenue, with 12,579 square meters of work and connection with the Los Altos urbanization; the Desiderio Rodríguez avenue, with 32,564.40 square meters from the entrance branch of the N-332; the Doctor Gregorio Marañón avenue, with 15,714 square meters; and the Gardenias avenue, with 6,315 square meters.

The total cost of the work carried out on these four main roads amounts to 650,000 euros.

With the completion of the works in Mar Azul and Lo Ferrís, the municipal program aimed at renewing the pavement of numerous streets and avenues in Torrevieja continues to advance, and at the same time, improve pedestrian routes, accessibility and road signage.
