The prizes for the 8th "Tribute to the Elderly" Photography Contest have been awarded.

The jury of the 8th Annual Photography Contest in Honor of Seniors, comprised of Joaquín Carrión, Carmen García, Darío Pérez, and Fernando Guardiola, has decided to award first prize to Sonia Vásquez for her photograph, “Fishing for Illusions,” second prize to Joaquín Quesada Baeza, and third prize to Milagros Blázquez. The Enrique López Joga Special Prize has been awarded this year to Begoña del Valle.

The theme of this eighth edition of the photography contest has been "Torrevieja and I", a tribute to those moments when you have enjoyed the city.

The competition invites senior citizens of the municipality to share, through photography, their unique perspective on Torrevieja and their connection to the city. The submitted images capture its landscapes, streets, beaches, traditions, everyday spaces, personal encounters, or any other element that represents memories, experiences, and emotions associated with the municipality.

Inmaculada Montesinos highlighted that this competition "allows us to get to know Torrevieja through the eyes and experience of our elders, who are an essential part of the history, the present and the identity of the city."

Finally, the Councillor for Senior Citizens, Inmaculada Montesinos, has announced that the prizes for this eighth Photography Contest will be awarded next Wednesday, September 30th, at 12:00 noon at the Municipal Leisure Centre.
