The comprehensive maintenance service for municipal sports facilities is put out to tender for 2.8 million euros.

The Local Governing Board has approved the tendering of a contract with an initial duration of two years, renewable annually for another two years, up to a maximum of four.

The service includes the maintenance of the facilities, as well as a permanent on-call service to attend to emergencies 24 hours a day, all year round. The contract will guarantee the conservation, repair and proper functioning of buildings, courts, swimming pools, electrical networks, air conditioning, plumbing, landscaping, security systems and the rest of the elements of the municipal sports facilities.

The Local Governing Board of the Torrevieja City Council has approved the tendering process for the contracting of the provision of comprehensive maintenance services for municipal sports facilities, through advance expenditure processing.

The total estimated value of the contract amounts to 2,382,054 euros (VAT included) and will have an initial duration of two years, with the possibility of two extensions of one year each, thus reaching a maximum duration of four years.

The Councillor for Sports of Torrevieja City Council, Diana Box, has announced that the primary objective of this contract is to ensure that municipally owned sports facilities are maintained in perfect condition and working order, extending the lifespan of the buildings, their structural elements, utility networks, and outdoor spaces, and guaranteeing adequate safety, hygiene, and habitability conditions. It also includes any necessary repairs and replacements of materials, installations, or elements.

COMPREHENSIVE MAINTENANCE AND 24-HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICE

The service includes different types of maintenance: preventive and scheduled, operational, technical-legal and corrective, including both ordinary work and the repair of breakdowns, replacement of equipment and materials and correction of incidents.

One of the highlights of the contract will be the availability of an emergency on-call service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, intended to intervene in the event of breakdowns, damage or any incident that may affect the normal functioning or safety of the municipal sports facilities.

Furthermore, outside of normal operating hours, including Sundays and public holidays, this service must be maintained continuously, with the capacity to respond immediately to emergencies. The specifications also stipulate the need to guarantee the continuous operation of the systems and minimize downtime caused by breakdowns.

CONSERVATION OF BUILDINGS, TRACKS, SWIMMING POOLS AND FACILITY NETWORKS

The contract is comprehensive and covers the maintenance and repair of the sports facilities and all elements necessary for their operation. These include, among other things, plumbing, sanitation, and rainwater drainage systems; electrical and lighting installations; heating and cooling systems; fire protection systems; alarms and security cameras; flooring, sports courts, outdoor swimming pools, enclosures, carpentry, and locksmithing.

It also includes work on facades, roofs, false ceilings, cladding, automatic doors, stairs and railings, as well as the comprehensive maintenance of landscaped areas, including pruning, lawn mowing, weed removal and conservation and repair of irrigation systems.

The service will be extended to the municipal sports facilities currently included in the contract and may incorporate any new sports facilities that come into operation during its validity, through the corresponding contractual modification.
