Torrevieja celebrates the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, patrons of the Local Police, on Friday, October 2nd.

Torrevieja will celebrate the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, patrons of the Local Police, this coming Friday, October 2nd, with a mass ceremony at the Parish of the Immaculate Conception, at 6:30 p.m., which will be attended by the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the councilor for Security and Emergencies, Federico Alarcón, as well as a large part of the members of the Government team and agents and commanders of the Local Police.

During the ceremony, a prayer for the deceased will be said, and a laurel wreath will be placed at the feet of the image of the Guardian Angel, while the March "Death is not the end" plays, ending the celebration with the performance of the Torrevieja Local Police anthem.

Following this, at 8:00 p.m., the awards ceremony for members of the Local Police will take place at the Torrevieja International Auditorium. Approximately 200 officers will receive awards and recognition for various reasons at this official event.

It is worth noting that this year the Gold Shield will be awarded to the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus the Captive (The Nazarene), which has maintained an excellent relationship with the Local Police force for more than 30 years, since the Local Police Force has held the position of Honorary Senior Brother since 1995.

To conclude the event, recognition will be given to the officers who have completed 10, 15, 20, 25 and 35 years of service to the Torrevieja local police, and to the officers who have retired during this last year.
