Torrevieja will celebrate its first Health Fair on October 29th with a day dedicated to training, prevention and personal care
The Department of Prevention and Health Promotion of the Torrevieja City Council is organizing the 1st Torrevieja Health Fair on Thursday, October 29th, a new municipal initiative that aims to bring citizens closer to tools, knowledge and resources that allow them to improve their health care and promote healthy lifestyle habits.
The Fair will take place at the Torrevieja International Auditorium and will combine training, information, dissemination and prevention throughout the day, with activities aimed at both young students and the general public.
One of the main attractions of this first Fair will be the installation of a large area with tables and stands dedicated to what are known as "Health Assets," which attendees can visit and learn about firsthand. Participation is expected from organizations and professionals linked to the Red Cross, pharmacies, gyms, fire departments, primary care centers, ambulance services, nutrition, associations, cancer prevention, and addiction prevention, among other fields.
The aim is to offer attendees practical information and resources that contribute to acquiring greater responsibility for their own care, making prevention and healthy habits a fundamental tool for improving quality of life.
THE MORNING, DEDICATED TO THE 3RD YEAR ESO STUDENTS
Tomorrow's program will take place between 10:00 and 13:30, and will be especially aimed at 3rd year students of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) from the educational centers of Torrevieja, who will participate in two shifts.
The first session, from 10:00 to 12:30, will begin with a visit to the different stands at the Fair. Following this, at 11:00, Miguel Assal will give a talk entitled “The Experience That Saves Lives in the First 5 Minutes,” focused on providing basic knowledge for reacting in an emergency situation.
The second shift, between 11:00 and 13:30, will also participate in the training session on first aid and will later tour the different stands and information spaces set up in the Auditorium.
The program aims to provide young people with simple, useful knowledge applicable to everyday situations, especially related to prevention and the ability to react to an emergency.
THE FAIR OPENS IN THE AFTERNOON TO ALL CITIZENS
The afternoon program will take place between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and will be open to the general public, who will be able to freely visit the different stands and learn about the services, activities and advice offered by the participating entities.
One of the main events of the afternoon will be the presentation by Dr. Sara Marín, who will give the talk "I wasn't like this before: an expedition through how a woman's body changes over the years," in which she will address in an accessible way the changes that the female body experiences throughout the different stages of life.
Entry to Dr. Sara Marín's lecture will be free with an invitation through the Cultura Torrevieja website (culturatorrevieja.com).
The day will end at 9:00 PM.
The Department of Prevention and Health Promotion intends for this first edition to transform the International Auditorium into a major meeting point focused on health for one day, bringing prevention closer to the public from a practical and accessible perspective: teaching how to care for others and oneself, getting to know our bodies better, and providing tools that allow us to take a more active and responsible role in caring for our own health.
