Flamenco & Sal kicks off its third edition on October 18 with "Gitanerías", a celebration of flamenco and gastronomy
The gardens of the Torrevieja Auditorium will host the start of the third edition of Flamenco & Sal on October 18th, a cycle that once again unites flamenco, gastronomy and Mediterranean culture in a unique setting, with the Torrevieja Salt Flats as a backdrop.
The new edition will start at 12:00 noon, with doors opening at 11:00 a.m., with 'Gitanerías', a show that brings together singing, guitar, dance and percussion to offer a look at flamenco from its most gypsy roots.
Juan Moreno on guitar, Antonio Heredia “Monillo” on vocals, Yoni “Remache” and Saray “La Chaparra” on dance, along with Xiki Jiménez on percussion and vocals, star in a proposal marked by strength, passion and authenticity, which highlights the artistic contribution of the gypsy people to the development of flamenco.
FLAMENCO AND GASTRONOMY, AN EXPERIENCE THAT EXPANDS
One of the main new features of this third edition of Flamenco & Sal will be its gastronomic offerings. The festival continues to offer free wine or cava tastings to accompany the performances and this year adds new tastings of products from two companies joining the project: Señorío de Relleu olive oils and Marcos Tonda chocolates.
In this way, the public will be able to enjoy an experience that combines live flamenco with a selection of gastronomic products linked to Mediterranean tradition and culture.
In addition, this edition will once again feature the Spain Tasting Box, Spanish gastronomy tasting boxes that can be purchased online to complete the Flamenco & Sal experience.
New this year, those who purchase a Spain Tasting Box can also reserve a table to enjoy the tasting during the event for an additional fee. Places for this option are limited and must be reserved in advance.
FIVE FLAMENCO PERFORMANCES IN THE AUDITORIUM GARDENS
Following 'Gitanerías', the program will continue on November 8 with 'Flamenco viene del Sur', a proposal that explores different styles of flamenco and celebrates the richness of Andalusian folklore.
On November 22nd, it will be the turn of 'Santa Cruz', from the flamenco group of La Guitarrería Santa Cruz, Tablao Flamenco, with a look at the flamenco developed in the province of Alicante.
The program will continue on December 19 with 'Tablao Flamenco', a proposal that vindicates the tablao as a natural space for singing, guitar playing and dancing.
The cycle will close on December 26 with 'La Mar Flamenca', a show in which the Mediterranean becomes a source of inspiration to explore the encounter between tradition and evolution within flamenco.
All Flamenco & Sal events will take place at 12:00 noon, with doors opening at 11:00 a.m., thus maintaining the format of a meeting between show and gastronomy that characterizes the cycle.
Tickets are priced at 15 euros and are available online through culturatorrevieja.com and flamencoysal.es.
The third edition of Flamenco & Sal thus proposes five encounters with live flamenco in a privileged space in Torrevieja, incorporating new gastronomic experiences and consolidating a proposal that seeks to jointly celebrate art, flavors and Mediterranean culture.
