Theatre for all opens the 2026/2027 season with "Paradise Station" and three free shows this quarter
The Theatre for All series kicks off its 2026-2027 season this coming Sunday, October 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center with “Paradise Station” by the La Maquiné company. This one-person show, recommended for audiences five years and older, will open a three-month period in which all three scheduled performances will be completely free with a ticket.
The Torrevieja City Council's cultural program offers a new opportunity for young and old to share the performing arts. "Theater for All" continues its commitment to family-friendly productions that combine fun with values such as friendship, respect, and love, bringing theater to audiences of all ages.
In “Paradise Station,” an elderly puppeteer waits at a train station, unsure of why she is there. The puppets she keeps in a suitcase will be her only clue to discovering who she is and what her destiny holds. Through humor and tenderness, the show tells the story of a woman who bravely defies the limits of her memory to reunite with the love of her life. The play presents life as a train journey whose final destination is Paradise Station, in a story that invites families to share a tale of love and memory.
“Estación Paraíso” has won the 2024 Max Award for Best Show for Children, Youth or Family Audiences ; the Audience Award for Best Children's/Family Show at the 25th Castilla y León Theatre Fair, held in Ciudad Rodrigo in 2022; the 2023 FETEN Award for Best Female Performance; and the 2023 Lorca Award for Best Children's Show, granted by the Academy of Performing Arts of Andalusia.

Invitations can be collected from the reception desk of the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center until the day of the performance or until supplies run out. The organizers request that those who collect an invitation use it and, if they are ultimately unable to attend, give it to someone else who can enjoy the show.
With this opening of the theatre season, Theatre for All encourages families to fill the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre once again and enjoy a program that facilitates access to culture.
