"Conversations about Health" dedicates its ninth edition to the recovery of people with alcohol addiction
Professionals from the Quirónsalud Torrevieja Hospital, APAEX and UPCA will participate in a day focused on prevention, support and the experiences of those facing a recovery process
The Torrevieja City Council, through the Department of Prevention and Health Promotion, headed by Rosa Cañón, will hold the ninth edition of the "Conversations about Health" series next Monday, November 9th, an initiative that brings issues related to health and well-being closer to the public through dialogue, dissemination and the exchange of experiences.
This time, the event will be titled “Much More Than Quitting Drinking: Reclaiming Your Life” and will focus on alcohol addiction and the recovery process. The event will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Torrevieja Casino, and admission is free.
The conference offers a reflection on the reality of people facing this process, emphasizing prevention, support, and the restoration of quality of life. The chosen title presents a broad perspective, encompassing the rebuilding of personal relationships, the resumption of daily activities, and the importance of having support along the way.
To address these issues, the session will bring together professionals and representatives from organizations linked to health and addiction treatment. Participants will include Ramón Antonio Gómez Marín, a pharmacist from Quirónsalud Torrevieja Hospital, along with Adriana León Pérez and Abilia Clares Nicolás, from APAEX Torrevieja.
Also participating will be Finamaría Molero, Tamara Camacho Barroso, and Cristina Richart Bernal, from UPCA Torrevieja. The event will also include the participation of María de Gea López, who will contribute an APAEX narrative, adding the personal and human dimension of recovery to the day's proceedings.
The presence of professionals and organizations will allow for the sharing of diverse perspectives on the same reality and will bring attendees closer to the work of those involved in prevention, care, and support. Shared experiences will play a prominent role in a conversation that aims to foster understanding and raise public awareness.
The initiative is aimed at individuals interested in learning more about this issue, as well as family members, friends, and the general public. The event will provide a space to listen, reflect, and understand the needs of those undergoing recovery, and the value of the support they receive throughout the process.
The Torrevieja City Council invites citizens to attend this new "Conversations about Health" event, which will place prevention, awareness and support at the center of the dialogue on alcohol addiction and the recovery of daily life.
